What is the title of the Pixar short-film series featuring Mater’s tall tales?

Mater’s Tall Tales is the title of Pixar’s short-film series featuring Mater’s stories.

The series centers on Mater, the tow truck from Radiator Springs, who recounts extraordinary adventures that he claims to have experienced. Lightning McQueen often appears as his listener, and the comedy comes from the possibility that Mater’s exaggerated stories might contain more truth than expected.

The first three shorts premiered on television in 2008, and additional installments followed. The shorts use different genres, including racing, espionage, monster comedy, and superhero-style adventure, while keeping Mater’s storytelling as the connecting idea.

Mater’s Tall Tales is separate from the Cars feature films, although it uses their characters and setting. It is also distinct from Cars Toons: Tales from Radiator Springs, a later group of short films that includes stories not structured around Mater’s tall tales.
