What is the title of the Oscar-winning song from Disney's Pinocchio?

The Oscar-winning song from Disney's Pinocchio is “When You Wish Upon a Star.”

Written by Leigh Harline with lyrics by Ned Washington, the song is introduced by Jiminy Cricket near the beginning of the 1940 animated film. It expresses the central idea that a sincere wish can help make a dream come true, and it became closely associated with the Disney brand beyond the movie itself.

Cliff Edwards performed the original English version as Jiminy Cricket. The song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 13th Academy Awards, making it one of the earliest Disney songs to receive that honor.

The other songs in Pinocchio are memorable but were not the Oscar winner. “I've Got No Strings” is performed by Pinocchio, “Give a Little Whistle” is associated with Jiminy Cricket, and “Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee” is Honest John's song.
