What is the title of the first published Chronicles of Narnia book?

The first published Chronicles of Narnia book was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

C.S. Lewis published The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in 1950. It introduces the Pevensie children, who enter the world of Narnia through a wardrobe and become involved in the struggle against the White Witch.

The book was the first Narnia story released to readers, but it is not first in the series’ internal chronology. The Magician’s Nephew, published later, describes earlier events in Narnia’s history. That difference explains why reading-order lists can vary.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe remains the best-known Narnia title. Its characters include Aslan, Mr. Tumnus, Edmund Pevensie, and the White Witch, whose rule has brought perpetual winter to Narnia.
