What is the title of the first episode of the 2016 revival series?

The title of the first episode of the 2016 revival series is “My Struggle.” It premiered on Fox on January 24, 2016, as the opening installment of the six-episode tenth season of The X-Files.

The episode reintroduces FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully after the original series ended in 2002 and after the 2008 film The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Mulder meets conspiracy-focused webcaster Tad O’Malley, who presents evidence that challenges the traditional alien-colonization narrative.

“My Struggle” is a mythology episode rather than a stand-alone monster story. Chris Carter wrote and directed it, and its title begins a sequence that continues with “My Struggle II” in the same season, followed by “My Struggle III” and “My Struggle IV” in season 11. That numbering is the main source of confusion: the unnumbered “My Struggle” is the revival’s first episode.

The episode was broadcast during a two-night premiere, with the second episode, “Founder's Mutation,” airing the following evening.
