The title of Shakka’s 2018 single featuring AlunaGeorge is “Man Down.” The song was released as a collaboration between British singer Shakka and AlunaGeorge, the electronic-pop project associated with vocalist Aluna Francis and producer George Reid.
“Man Down” was released on 16 February 2018 through TrakHouse Records, with JAE5 credited as producer. It blends R&B, pop and electronic influences, and its lyrics centre on romantic tension, commitment and the complications of falling for someone while struggling to make time for a relationship.
The title can be confused with Rihanna’s 2010 song “Man Down,” a completely different recording. Rihanna’s track is a reggae-influenced song from her album Loud, whereas Shakka’s 2018 release is a separate collaboration with AlunaGeorge. The Shakka single was also promoted with an official music video and later appeared on major streaming services under the title “Man Down (feat. AlunaGeorge).
