What is the title of the 1997 Tomb Raider sequel?
Answer
Tomb Raider II
Answer
Tomb Raider II
The title of the 1997 Tomb Raider sequel is Tomb Raider II.
Tomb Raider II followed the original Tomb Raider game and continued Lara Croft’s adventures with a new international journey. Its story centers on the Dagger of Xian, an ancient weapon connected to Chinese legend and coveted by the crime lord Marco Bartoli.
The game expanded the series with new environments, including Venice, Tibet, and China, while retaining the platforming, puzzle-solving, exploration, and combat structure established by the 1996 original. It was developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive.
Tomb Raider II is sometimes confused with its later expansion, The Further Adventures of Lara Croft, or with Tomb Raider III, which arrived in 1998. The Roman numeral is important: “II” identifies the second main installment, released one year after the original.
