What is the title of Pixar’s short-series project starring Mater in tall tales?

Mater’s Tall Tales is the title of Pixar’s short-series project starring Mater in tall tales.

The series is part of Cars Toons, a collection of animated shorts centered on Mater and Lightning McQueen. In each story, Mater tells an extravagant account of something he supposedly did, while Lightning reacts to the tale. The short “Rescue Squad Mater” was the first installment in the Mater’s Tall Tales series.

The comedy often comes from uncertainty about where Mater’s stories end and exaggeration begins. The shorts use the Cars characters and setting while allowing the creators to explore brief, self-contained situations rather than the longer plots of the feature films.

The title is sometimes shortened informally to Mater’s Tall Tales, but it is distinct from the broader Cars Toons branding. Cars Toons also includes other short concepts, including Tales from Radiator Springs. The requested title refers specifically to the Mater-centered tall-tale shorts.
