What is the title of Pixar's 2022 Cars television series featuring Lightning McQueen and Mater?
Answer
Cars on the Road
Cars on the Road is the title of Pixar's 2022 television series featuring Lightning McQueen and Mater.
The series follows Lightning and Mater on a road trip across the United States. Each episode places the pair in a different situation, allowing Pixar to explore genres and settings beyond the feature-film plots while keeping the friendship between the two characters at the center.
Cars on the Road premiered on Disney+ on September 8, 2022. It consists of nine episodes and was created by Steve Purcell, with production from Pixar Animation Studios. Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy returned as the voices of Lightning McQueen and Mater.
The title is sometimes mistaken for a subtitle of Cars 4, but Pixar presented it as a separate television series. It also differs from the feature films Cars, Cars 2, and Cars 3, which each have their own theatrical release and longer continuous storyline.
