What is the title of Pixar's 2006 Cars short film about a ghostly legend?

Mater and the Ghostlight is Pixar's 2006 Cars short film about a ghostly legend.

The short follows Mater after the residents of Radiator Springs tell him a spooky story about the Ghostlight. They then play a practical joke that leaves a glowing blue light attached to him, causing the boastful tow truck to become genuinely frightened as he drives through the dark town.

Mater and the Ghostlight was released on DVD with Cars in November 2006. It expands the personalities of the Radiator Springs characters while using a compact horror-comedy premise rather than advancing the feature film's racing plot.

The short is separate from Cars Toons, the later series of Mater-centered shorts. Cars Toons began in 2008 and includes episodes such as Rescue Squad Mater and Tokyo Mater. That difference explains why the Ghostlight title is often remembered alongside, but not as an episode of, the later shorts series.
