Beyoncé’s 2022 studio album that began her Renaissance project is titled Renaissance.
Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records released Renaissance on July 29, 2022. It is Beyoncé’s seventh solo studio album and was presented as the first act of a planned three-act project.
The album draws heavily on dance music, house, disco and funk traditions. Its lead single, “Break My Soul,” became Beyoncé’s eighth solo number-one single on the US Billboard Hot 100 and incorporated elements associated with Robin S’s “Show Me Love.”
Renaissance was followed by Cowboy Carter in 2024, identified as the second act. The album’s title is sometimes confused with the broader project name, but Renaissance specifically refers to the first album and its associated era.
