Beyoncé’s 2019 Coachella concert documentary is titled Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé.
Netflix released the documentary on April 17, 2019. It documents Beyoncé’s 2018 performances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, where she became the first Black woman to headline the festival.
The concert centered historically Black colleges and universities, marching-band traditions, majorette dance, and a large ensemble of musicians and dancers. The film combines performance footage with behind-the-scenes material about the demanding preparation for the shows.
The title is sometimes confused with Black Is King, a 2020 visual album connected to The Lion King: The Gift, or with Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, released in 2023. Homecoming specifically focuses on the Coachella performances and their cultural concept.
