What is the title of Beyoncé’s 2019 album accompanying The Lion King: The Gift?

Beyoncé’s 2019 album accompanying The Lion King is titled The Lion King: The Gift.

Released on July 19, 2019, the album was inspired by Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King, in which Beyoncé voiced the character Nala. It is a companion album rather than a conventional soundtrack containing every song from the film. Beyoncé served as executive producer and assembled artists from several musical traditions.

The project includes guest appearances by artists such as Jay-Z, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, and Major Lazer. Its songs draw on African musical influences and feature performers from across the African continent, alongside artists from the United States and elsewhere.

The album should not be confused with Black Is King, a 2020 visual album and film that reinterpreted music from The Lion King: The Gift. The two projects are closely connected, but they are separate releases with different formats and titles.
