What is the title of 2026 headliner Olivia Dean’s debut studio album? The answer is Messy.
Messy is the debut studio album by London singer-songwriter Olivia Dean. Released in 2023, it introduced the warm, soulful pop sound that became closely associated with her early career. The record blends polished modern production with jazz, soul, and singer-songwriter influences.
The title reflects the album’s emotional openness. Rather than presenting relationships and personal growth as perfectly tidy stories, Dean’s songs explore uncertainty, affection, vulnerability, and the process of becoming more comfortable with oneself. The title track helped give the project its central sense of candour and lightness.
The distractors are notable albums by other artists: Crash is by Charli XCX, Solar Power is by Lorde, and Sour is by Olivia Rodrigo. Their presence can make the question feel harder because all four artists are linked to major contemporary pop releases, but only Messy belongs to Dean’s discography.
