What is the street address of the iconic Tiffany & Co. flagship store in New York City?

The story behind the answer

The iconic Tiffany & Co. flagship store in New York City is at 727 Fifth Avenue. The ten-story building stands at the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan.

The present flagship opened on October 21, 1940, after Tiffany moved from an earlier location at 401 Fifth Avenue. New York architects Cross & Cross designed the building in a conservative modern style, combining a granite-and-limestone exterior with streamlined Art Deco influences. Its Atlas statue and clock became recognizable symbols of the store.

“Fifth Avenue and 57th Street” describes the intersection, not the formal street address. That wording is therefore a tempting but less precise answer. The nearby addresses 750 Fifth Avenue and 666 Fifth Avenue refer to different buildings.

The store appeared in the cultural legacy of Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Truman Capote’s novella was published in 1958, followed by the famous 1961 film starring Audrey Hepburn. A major renovation reopened the flagship in 2023.
