What is the signature roast-beef sandwich sold by Arby’s called?

The story behind the answer

Arby’s signature roast-beef sandwich is called the Beef ’n Cheddar.

The sandwich combines sliced roast beef with cheddar cheese sauce and a tangy red sauce on an onion roll. It became one of Arby’s best-known menu items alongside the chain’s classic roast-beef sandwich.

Arby’s name comes from the initials of its founders, the Raffel brothers: Leroy and Forrest Raffel. The chain opened its first restaurant in Boardman, Ohio, in 1964.

The Beef ’n Cheddar is not the same as Arby’s standard Roast Beef Classic. The cheese sauce, onion roll, and red sauce are the defining features of the signature version.
