The Rolex Submariner with a blue dial and matching blue bezel, nicknamed the Smurf, is reference 116619 (more fully, 116619LB).
Introduced in 2008, the watch combined a 40 mm case and Oyster bracelet made from 18-karat white gold with a blue Cerachrom ceramic bezel. Its blue dial and white-gold case gave it the distinctive blue-and-white appearance behind the Smurf nickname. The LB suffix comes from the French “Lunette Bleu,” meaning blue bezel.
Collectors often confuse it with the 116618LB, which has a similar blue-and-blue design but is made from yellow gold. The 116613LB is the two-tone steel-and-yellow-gold alternative. The Smurf was discontinued around 2020 and succeeded by the larger 126619LB, which retains the white-gold case and blue bezel but uses a black dial.
