What is the real name of Reddit co-founder known as 'kn0thing'?

The Reddit co-founder known as “kn0thing” is Alexis Ohanian.

Alexis Kerry Ohanian co-founded Reddit with his University of Virginia roommate Steve Huffman in 2005. The pair initially developed a different idea, a mobile food-ordering service, before creating Reddit for Y Combinator's first startup batch. Ohanian helped shape the company's early identity, including the Snoo alien mascot.

“kn0thing” was Ohanian's long-standing Reddit username, while Huffman used “spez.” The handles are often more recognizable to longtime Reddit users than the founders' legal names. Aaron Swartz later joined the company through its merger with Infogami and is also commonly listed among Reddit's co-founders, which can make founder-related questions confusing.

Reddit was acquired by Condé Nast in 2006. Ohanian left the company in 2009, later co-founded Initialized Capital, and returned to Reddit as executive chairman in 2014. He resigned from Reddit's board in 2020 and went on to focus on venture investing and projects including the firm 776 and women's sports ventures.
