Faker is a South Korean mid laner who debuted professionally with SK Telecom T1 in 2013. His mechanical skill, champion variety, laning ability, and long competitive career made him one of esports’ most recognizable players.
He won the League of Legends World Championship in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2023, and 2024. He also became associated with the nickname “Unkillable Demon King,” a reference to his dominance and longevity in the game’s professional scene.
The name is sometimes confused with other famous Korean players such as Deft or Rookie. Those are separate professional aliases belonging to Kim Hyuk-kyu and Song Eui-jin, respectively.
