What is the nickname for the red and blue bezel on the Rolex GMT-Master?

The story behind the answer

The nickname for the red-and-blue Rolex GMT-Master bezel is the “Pepsi” bezel.

The name comes from the colors’ resemblance to the red, white and blue branding associated with Pepsi-Cola, although the watch bezel itself uses red and blue to distinguish the 24-hour day and night portions of the scale. The color pairing first became one of the GMT-Master’s defining visual signatures on early aluminum bezel inserts.

“Pepsi” is part of an informal collector vocabulary for Rolex watches. A red-and-black GMT bezel is commonly called “Coke,” while a blue-and-black ceramic bezel is known as “Batman.” A green-and-black version is often called “Sprite.” These nicknames describe bezel colors, not official Rolex model names.

The modern ceramic Pepsi bezel arrived in stages. Rolex introduced a red-and-blue ceramic GMT-Master II in 2014 in white gold, then offered a stainless-steel version in 2018. The ceramic insert is known as Cerachrom and is designed to resist scratching and fading better than older aluminum inserts.
