What is the name of Walmart’s online marketplace for third-party sellers?

The story behind the answer

Walmart Marketplace is Walmart’s online marketplace for third-party sellers. It allows approved businesses to list products on Walmart’s website alongside merchandise sold directly by Walmart.

The marketplace model expands Walmart’s online assortment without requiring the retailer to purchase and warehouse every listed product. Sellers generally manage their own inventory and fulfillment, although Walmart also offers fulfillment services through Walmart Fulfillment Services.

Walmart Marketplace should not be confused with Walmart+, the company’s membership program, or Walmart Connect, its advertising business. Sam’s Club is also a separate Walmart division with its own retail identity. Walmart launched its third-party marketplace before making several later investments in omnichannel pickup, delivery, and fulfillment.
