What is the name of Timberland's community service program?

Timberland’s community service program is called Path of Service. Established in 1992, it gives employees paid time away from their ordinary jobs to volunteer on local community projects.

The program made service part of the company’s employment structure rather than treating charitable work solely as an occasional corporate donation. Employees can take up to one week of paid leave each year for qualifying volunteer activity, linking Timberland’s internal culture with its public mission of strengthening communities.

Path of Service is sometimes confused with Timberland’s earlier partnership with City Year. That relationship began in 1989 and helped support a Boston-based youth-service organization, but City Year is a partner, not the name of Timberland’s employee volunteer program. Timberland has also pursued environmental projects, including tree planting and reforestation, but those initiatives are separate from the Path of Service title.
