What is the name of the wizarding village where Harry’s parents were killed?
Answer
Godric’s Hollow
Answer
Godric’s Hollow
Harry Potter’s parents were killed in Godric’s Hollow.
Godric’s Hollow is the West Country village where James and Lily Potter lived with their infant son during the First Wizarding War. On 31 October 1981, Voldemort attacked the Potter home there after learning the family’s location, killing James and Lily and attempting to kill Harry.
The failed killing curse left Harry with his lightning-shaped scar and caused Voldemort’s body to be destroyed. Harry was then taken to live with the Dursleys, while the ruined Potter house became a lasting symbol of the attack.
Godric’s Hollow is also associated with several important historical figures, including Godric Gryffindor and the Dumbledore family. It should not be confused with Little Hangleton, the village connected with Voldemort’s father and grandparents, or Hogsmeade, the village near Hogwarts.
