What is the name of the vintage Hudson Hornet's racing identity in Pixar's Cars?

The story behind the answer

Doc Hudson's racing identity in Pixar's Cars is the Fabulous Hudson Hornet.

Before becoming Radiator Springs' doctor, Doc Hudson was a celebrated stock-car racer known as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. He won three Piston Cups and became a respected figure in the racing community. The film gradually reveals this history as Lightning McQueen learns that Doc is more than the stern local judge he first appears to be.

Doc's character is based partly on the real Hudson Hornet, a car manufactured by the Hudson Motor Car Company. Real Hudson Hornets were notable in early NASCAR competition, especially during the 1950s. Pixar combined that historical inspiration with an original backstory for the fictional character.

The Fabulous Hudson Hornet is a racing nickname, not the automobile's ordinary make and model. The character is usually called Doc Hudson in Radiator Springs, while the title identifies his earlier professional career. Paul Newman provided Doc's voice in the first Cars film.
