What is the name of the villainous spy in Pixar’s Cars 2?

Miles Axlerod is the villainous spy behind the plot of Pixar’s Cars 2.

Axlerod presents himself as a former oil magnate who has converted to electric power. He creates the World Grand Prix to promote Allinol, a supposedly clean alternative fuel, but secretly uses the event to discredit the fuel and provoke an international conflict.

His plan depends on a device that makes Allinol cause dangerous engine failures when exposed to electromagnetic radiation. The plot brings together racing, espionage, and the film’s fictional international settings.

Miles Axlerod is voiced in English by Eddie Izzard. He is easy to confuse with Professor Zündapp, another antagonist involved in the conspiracy, or with Finn McMissile, who is a British secret agent and one of the heroes. Axlerod’s identity is revealed near the end of the film.
