What is the name of the traditional Turkish double teapot?

The story behind the answer

The traditional Turkish double teapot is called a çaydanlık.

A çaydanlık consists of a larger lower pot and a smaller upper teapot stacked above it. Water boils in the bottom vessel, while tea leaves steep in the upper one. The resulting concentrated tea is poured into a glass and diluted with hot water from the lower pot, allowing each person to choose a strong or light cup.

The word is Turkish and literally relates to a teapot, while the upper brewing vessel is also commonly called a demlik. The method is central to Turkish tea service, where tea is typically served in small, tulip-shaped ince belli glasses that display its deep color. The çaydanlık is sometimes confused with a samovar, but a samovar is a separate heated-water urn traditionally associated with Russia and other regions.

Modern çaydanlık sets may be made from stainless steel, aluminum, copper, or ceramic. They remain common in Turkish homes, cafés, and tea gardens.
