The third member of Deep Cut is Big Man.

Big Man is the third member of Deep Cut, the idol group introduced in Splatoon 3. He appears alongside Shiver and Frye as one of the hosts of Anarchy Splatcast, the news program broadcast from Splatsville. The trio also performs during Splatfests and contributes music to the game’s lively, chaotic atmosphere.

Unlike the other two members, Big Man is a manta ray rather than an Inkling or an Octoling. His large silhouette and expressive fins make him immediately recognizable, while his friendly personality and repeated “Ay!” catchphrase helped make him a standout character among players. He also serves as Deep Cut’s primary songwriter and music creator.

Pearl belongs to Off the Hook, the idol duo from Splatoon 2, so she is not part of Deep Cut. Frye and Shiver are the group’s other two members, meaning Big Man completes the trio. Deep Cut debuted with Splatoon 3 in 2022, after the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook established the series’ tradition of in-universe pop idols.
