What is the name of the submarine ride at Disneyland?
Answer
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
Answer
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
The submarine ride at Disneyland is called Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. It is located in Tomorrowland and takes guests on an underwater journey inspired by Pixar’s Finding Nemo.
The attraction opened on June 11, 2007, as a retheming of Disneyland’s original Submarine Voyage. That earlier attraction operated from 1959 to 1998 and featured imaginary undersea scenes rather than characters from a specific film. Finding Nemo brought the lagoon back with scenes involving Nemo, Marlin, Dory, Bruce, and other characters.
Guests ride in partially submerged submarines and view the show through portholes. The attraction uses projected imagery, physical scenery, lighting, and audio-animatronic elements to create the impression of an underwater adventure. The submarines were also converted from diesel fuel to electric power.
The name is sometimes confused with 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, a separate Disney film and former attraction at other Disney parks. The Little Mermaid was considered as a possible theme during development, but it was not the final name.
