What is the name of the spy villain voiced by Thomas Kretschmann in Pixar's Cars 2?

Professor Zündapp is the spy villain voiced by Thomas Kretschmann in Pixar's Cars 2.

Zündapp is a German scientist who works with the lemons, a group of cars portrayed as criminal outcasts. He helps develop the plot to discredit alternative fuels by using a device that can make cars running on Allinol become dangerous during the World Grand Prix.

His name and design draw on the film's spy-movie influences, especially the tradition of eccentric technical villains. He is not the public organizer of the World Grand Prix; that role belongs to Miles Axlerod, whose own secret is central to the conspiracy.

The umlaut in “Zündapp” is part of the character's official name. The name also echoes Zündapp, a real German motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1917, although the animated character is a fictional vehicle and antagonist.
