What is the name of the Snorlax covered in moss in Pokémon Pokopia?

The story behind the answer

The moss-covered Snorlax in Pokémon Pokopia is named Mosslax. The name combines Snorlax’s species identity with the vegetation that has grown over it after sleeping for an exceptionally long time.

Snorlax is famous throughout the Pokémon series for its enormous appetite and habit of sleeping in inconvenient places. Pokopia extends that familiar trait into its abandoned-world setting: with no humans around, a very long sleep allows moss and other plants to cover the Pokémon.

Mosslax is one of Pokopia’s specially characterized Pokémon, alongside figures such as Peakychu, Smearguru, Chef Dente, DJ Rotom, and Tinkmaster. These names distinguish individual Pokémon from their ordinary species names and give the restored community its own cast of memorable residents.

Mosslax should not be confused with a new Pokémon species or an evolution. It is a named Snorlax character whose appearance reflects the game’s post-apocalyptic environment.
