What is the name of the short-film series starring Mater from Pixar's Cars franchise?

The short-film series starring Mater from Pixar's Cars franchise is called Mater's Tall Tales.

The series, officially known as Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales, follows Mater as he tells increasingly extravagant stories about his supposed past adventures. Each short usually presents Mater claiming that he performed an impressive feat, while Lightning McQueen reacts to the story.

The joke is that Mater's tales sound impossible, yet the surrounding characters often appear to confirm them. The shorts use the Cars world for compact comedy rather than continuing the feature films' longer dramatic plots.

Mater's Tall Tales debuted in 2008 and became one of the franchise's best-known spin-off projects. It is distinct from Cars Toons: Tales from Radiator Springs, another collection of short episodes that focuses more broadly on the town's residents.
