What is the name of the rookie race car who challenges Lightning McQueen in Cars 3?

Jackson Storm is the rookie race car who challenges Lightning McQueen in Cars 3.

Storm represents a new generation of highly engineered racers. He is faster, more technologically advanced, and less respectful than many of the veterans in the Piston Cup circuit. His rapid success convinces sponsors and audiences that McQueen’s era may be ending.

The conflict begins when McQueen suffers a major crash while trying to keep up with younger competitors. He then trains with Cruz Ramirez, a racing trainer whose own abilities eventually become important to the story.

Jackson Storm is voiced by Armie Hammer in the English version. The character’s sleek black design contrasts with McQueen’s familiar red bodywork. Storm is not the same character as Chick Hicks, the principal rival in the first Cars film, even though both are aggressive competitors.
