What is the name of the race in Pixar’s Cars 3 finale?

The climactic race in Pixar’s Cars 3 is the Florida 500.

The Florida 500 takes place at the fictional Florida International Super Speedway. Lightning McQueen enters the race after training with Cruz Ramirez and confronting the challenge posed by Jackson Storm, the leading racer of the new generation.

The event is important because it turns the film’s central question—whether Lightning can still compete—into a decision about his future. The race also helps establish Cruz as more than a trainer, connecting her abilities with the legacy of racers who came before her.

The Florida 500 should not be confused with the Piston Cup, which is the championship series featured across the franchise. The World Grand Prix belongs to Cars 2 and takes place in several countries.
