Chick Hicks is the race champion who rivals Lightning McQueen in Pixar's Cars.
Chick is a green 1979 Shyster Cremlin sponsored by Hostile Takeover Bank. He competes against Lightning and veteran champion Strip “The King” Weathers in the Piston Cup season finale. Chick is aggressive and willing to use dirty tactics, including forcing other racers into dangerous situations.
The film's climax is a three-way race to decide the championship. Chick wins after causing The King to crash, but Lightning chooses to help the injured veteran rather than cross the finish line first. Chick's victory is therefore overshadowed by the audience's condemnation of his behavior.
Chick is commonly confused with Jackson Storm, the modern racer who challenges Lightning in Cars 3, or Francesco Bernoulli, Lightning's rival in Cars 2. Both are separate characters from different films.
