Tracker is the PAW Patrol pup who is a Chihuahua with exceptional hearing.
Tracker’s unusually sensitive hearing is his signature ability. It allows him to detect distant sounds and identify where people or animals may be located, particularly in the jungle environment where he lives and works. His hearing complements the physical rescue abilities of the other pups.
Tracker is associated with jungle missions and often works with Carlos. This setting distinguishes him from Chase, the police and tracking pup who operates mainly around Adventure Bay, and from Liberty, the urban pup introduced in the first theatrical film.
Tracker’s design and role can lead to mix-ups because several PAW Patrol characters have specialized senses or tracking-related equipment. The canonical pairing is specific: Tracker is the Chihuahua with exceptional hearing. His character demonstrates how the franchise assigns each pup a recognizable skill, vehicle, uniform, and rescue function.
