The octopus in Nemo’s class in *Finding Nemo* is Pearl. She is a small flapjack octopus who introduces herself when Nemo arrives at the fish tank in the dentist’s office.
Pearl is one of the aquarium group’s younger members, alongside characters such as Gill, Bloat, Gurgle, Deb, Peach, and Jacques. Her distinctive feature is a shorter-looking tentacle, which she jokingly describes as being “shorter than the rest.”
A common mix-up is choosing Dory, who is Nemo’s blue-tang companion, or Tad, who is another student at school. Pearl is not a major part of the ocean journey, but she becomes memorable through the aquarium scenes and her playful personality. The character is voiced by Erica Beck in the original film.
