The new Splatoon 3 sub weapon that releases multiple fizzy explosions is the Fizzy Bomb.
The Fizzy Bomb is a throwable sub weapon introduced in Splatoon 3. After it is thrown, it produces a sequence of expanding ink explosions rather than a single immediate blast. Players can charge it before throwing by repeatedly shaking the controller or pressing the relevant input, increasing the number and spread of its explosions.
That behavior makes the Fizzy Bomb useful for painting areas, pressuring opponents behind cover, and forcing enemies away from a position. It also gives the weapon a distinctive role among Splatoon’s sub weapons: the player can choose between deploying it quickly or spending time to make its explosive sequence more substantial.
Burst Bomb, Autobomb, and Curling Bomb are separate sub weapons with different mechanics. A Burst Bomb detonates on impact, an Autobomb tracks nearby opponents, and a Curling Bomb travels along the ground while leaving ink behind. None of those names describes Splatoon 3’s multi-explosion fizzy projectile.
