Jackson Storm is the new-generation racer who becomes Lightning McQueen’s main rival in Cars 3.
Storm represents a new era of racing technology. He is faster, heavily data-driven, and supported by advanced training and simulation systems. His success makes Lightning confront the possibility that experience alone may no longer be enough to compete.
Armie Hammer provides Storm’s voice in the English version. The character’s sleek black-and-blue design contrasts with Lightning’s familiar red body and traditional racing identity.
Cars 3 builds its central conflict around the generational shift between established racers and newer competitors. Lightning eventually works with Cruz Ramirez, whose own racing potential becomes increasingly important. Jackson Storm is not the same character as Chick Hicks, the principal rival in the original Cars, or Francesco Bernoulli, a major rival in Cars 2.
