Connor is the main playable assassin in Assassin's Creed III.
Connor is the name used by Ratonhnhaké:ton, a Kanien'kehá:ka man who becomes involved with the Assassin-Templar conflict during the American Revolution. He is raised in a Mohawk village and later trains under Achilles Davenport, an experienced Assassin.
The game follows Connor through major events of the eighteenth-century revolution, including encounters with George Washington and other historical figures. Its open world includes colonial cities, wilderness, and a naval component.
A frequent source of confusion is that Haytham Kenway is playable during the opening sequence. Haytham is Connor's father and a Templar, not the game's main Assassin protagonist. Ratonhnhaké:ton is Connor's birth name, while Connor is the shorter name most commonly used in the game's English dialogue and marketing.
