What is the name of the magical school attended by Harry Potter?

Harry Potter attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Hogwarts is a British wizarding school located in Scotland. Harry begins attending at age eleven and studies there for most of the series. The school is divided into four houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.

Students learn subjects including Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, Herbology, History of Magic, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. The school is protected by numerous enchantments and is hidden from Muggles. Its castle contains classrooms, towers, moving staircases, and the Great Hall.

Hogwarts is not the only magical school mentioned in the books. Beauxbatons Academy is associated with France, while Durmstrang Institute sends students to the Triwizard Tournament. Ilvermorny is a North American school described in later wizarding-world material, but it is not Harry’s school in the seven main novels.
