Narnia is the magical land in C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia.
The name appears in the series title and identifies the central fantasy world visited by many of the stories’ characters. Narnia contains talking animals, mythical creatures, kings and queens, and a history spanning many generations. The books connect Narnia to other worlds, including Earth, through magical passages and objects.
Although the series is commonly called The Chronicles of Narnia, not every scene takes place in Narnia itself. Some episodes occur in England, while others involve neighboring or connected lands such as Archenland, Calormen, and the Underland.
Narnia is sometimes mistakenly treated as the name of the wardrobe or of a single kingdom ruled by one family. The wardrobe is a portal in the first published story, while Narnia is the wider world and its realm.
