The Keith Richards book released in 2010 is Life. Published in October 2010, it is Richards’ memoir, written with journalist James Fox and centered on the guitarist’s extraordinary career with the Rolling Stones.
Life follows Richards from his childhood in Dartford, England, and his early exposure to music through his mother and maternal grandfather, to his discovery of American blues. It then traces the formation and rise of the Rolling Stones, his creative partnership and turbulent friendship with Mick Jagger, and the band’s transformation into one of rock music’s most influential acts.
The memoir also discusses Richards’ drug use, relationships, touring life and encounters with other major musicians. Although Richards is credited as the author, James Fox assisted with the writing after interviewing him and people close to him over several years.
The title is sometimes confused with a Rolling Stones history or a conventional biography. Life is specifically Richards’ autobiography, and its release date is October 26, 2010. The audiobook later won Audie Awards for Audiobook of the Year and Biography/Memoir.
