What is the name of the Italian race car voiced by John Turturro in Pixar’s Cars 2?

Francesco Bernoulli is the Italian race car voiced by John Turturro in Pixar’s Cars 2.

Francesco is Lightning McQueen’s flamboyant rival in the World Grand Prix. He is a Formula-style racer from Italy and repeatedly emphasizes his speed, fame, and victories. His theatrical confidence creates a comic contrast with Lightning’s more grounded personality.

Francesco is not the same character as Luigi, the Italian Fiat 500 who owns Radiator Springs’ tire shop. Luigi is voiced by Tony Shalhoub, while John Turturro voices Francesco. The name Bernoulli also echoes the Bernoulli principle, a scientific concept associated with fluid flow, although the film presents the character primarily as a racing celebrity.
