What is the name of the international race featured in Pixar's Cars 2?

The World Grand Prix is the international race featured in Pixar's Cars 2.

The event is organized by billionaire Miles Axlerod to promote Allinol, a new alternative fuel. It takes competitors to Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London. Lightning McQueen enters as a racer, while Mater becomes involved in a spy operation after the race is connected to a wider conspiracy.

The World Grand Prix is fictional, but its structure resembles a global motorsport series. The film uses recognizable city settings and racing environments to move beyond the small-town focus of the original Cars. Each location also contributes a distinct visual style, from Tokyo's illuminated streets to London's historic landmarks.

The World Grand Prix is not the Piston Cup. The Piston Cup is the domestic stock-car championship associated with McQueen's main career, whereas the World Grand Prix is an international event created specifically for Cars 2.
