What is the name of the giant earth spirits in Disney’s Frozen II?

The giant earth spirits in Disney’s Frozen II are called the Earth Giants.

The Earth Giants live in the Enchanted Forest and appear as enormous beings made of rock. Their movements create powerful waves and threaten the safety of the characters travelling through the forest. Anna and Elsa must understand the spirits rather than simply fight them.

The Earth Giants are part of the film’s elemental mythology. Frozen II also features Bruni, the fire spirit; Gale, the wind spirit; and the Nokk, the water spirit. Together, these beings connect Elsa’s magic to a wider natural world beyond Arendelle.

The Earth Giants are not trolls, despite their rocky appearance. The trolls are a separate magical community that appears in both Frozen films and is associated with healing and ancient wisdom. The giants’ silent, monumental design emphasizes the scale and danger of the enchanted landscape.
