What is the name of the former Iraqi Republican Guard on Lost?

Sayid Jarrah is the former Iraqi Republican Guard member on Lost.

Before boarding Oceanic Flight 815, Sayid served as a communications officer in Iraq’s Special Republican Guard. His military background, technical knowledge, and experience as an interrogator make him one of the most capable survivors after the crash. He often helps organize the group, repair equipment, and investigate threats on the island.

Sayid’s history is revealed gradually through flashbacks. During the Gulf War, he was captured by the U.S. military and was pressured to interrogate his commanding officer. Later, he was ordered to interrogate a prisoner who turned out to be Nadia, his childhood friend. These experiences shape his guilt and his repeated attempts to become a better person.

Desmond, Charlie, and Sawyer are also prominent Lost characters, but none is the former Iraqi Republican Guard member described in the question. Sayid’s military past is a defining part of his character and remains important throughout the series.
