Allinol is the fictional fuel used in Pixar's Cars 2.
Allinol is introduced as an alternative fuel promoted by oil magnate Miles Axlerod. The World Grand Prix is designed to demonstrate that cars can use it successfully, but the fuel becomes part of a larger conspiracy intended to discredit alternative energy and increase demand for traditional petroleum.
Cars 2 uses the fuel plot to connect its racing story with the international spy narrative. A device causes cars using Allinol to behave dangerously when exposed to electromagnetic pulses. This creates the central mystery that Finn McMissile, Holley Shiftwell, and Mater investigate.
Allinol is not a real commercial fuel. Its name is a fictional construction that sounds like “all-in-oil,” fitting the film's satire of energy marketing. It is also distinct from Rust-eze, Lightning McQueen's sponsor, and Dinoco, the racing and fuel brand seen throughout the Cars series.
