Assassin's Creed Syndicate is primarily set in London.
The game takes place in London during the Industrial Revolution, especially in 1868. Players control twin Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye as they fight to weaken Templar control over the city. The map includes districts such as Westminster, the City of London, Whitechapel, Southwark, Lambeth, and the Strand, allowing the game to depict different social and industrial environments.
London is a real city rather than a fictional one, but it is presented through the series' historical fiction and fictionalized characters. Paris is the main setting of Assassin's Creed Unity, Boston is prominent in Assassin's Creed III, and Constantinople is central to Assassin's Creed Revelations. These settings are all associated with the franchise, which can make them easy to confuse.
Syndicate was released in 2015. Its Victorian setting introduces the Frye twins, gang-based territory struggles, train travel, and a grappling launcher used for movement across the city's rooftops.
