Venus de Milo is the female turtle introduced in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation.
The live-action television series premiered in 1997 and added Venus to the familiar group of mutant turtles. Her name references the famous ancient Greek statue, continuing the franchise’s practice of naming turtles after Renaissance artists while giving the new character a related art-history name.
In the show’s continuity, Venus was separated from the other turtles after mutation and raised apart from them. She later joins Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo in their battles against the Foot Clan. Venus fights with a pair of mystical glass balls rather than the traditional weapons associated with her brothers.
Venus is distinct from Jennika, a later female turtle introduced in the IDW comic continuity. Alopex and Ninjara are also female mutant characters associated with different comic or adaptation histories, but neither is the turtle introduced in The Next Mutation.
