What is the name of the federal executive task force created in 2025 to plan America’s 250th-birthday celebrations?
Answer
White House Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday
The federal executive task force created in 2025 is the White House Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday.
President Donald Trump created the task force by executive order on January 29, 2025. Its stated purpose was to plan, organize, and execute celebrations of the 250th anniversary of American independence.
The task force is separate from the United States Semiquincentennial Commission, the bipartisan congressional body established in 2016. The two structures therefore have different origins and institutional relationships, even though both are connected with the 2026 anniversary.
Proposals associated with the task force included a Great American State Fair at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Patriot Games for high-school athletes, and other nationwide events. Its public nickname is Task Force 250.
