The collaborative studio album was recorded in Los Angeles in August 2005 and released on 7 November 2006 through Duck and Reprise Records. It blends blues, blues rock and Cale’s laid-back Tulsa sound, with both musicians contributing vocals and guitars.

The project grew from Clapton’s 2004 Crossroads Guitar Festival, where Cale performed. Clapton initially asked Cale to produce an album, but the collaboration developed into a joint recording.
